Zohar is a professor of mechanical engineering at the Tel Aviv University, Israel since October 2017. Previously, Zohar worked as a professor of mechanical engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel from 1995-September 2017, and the Head of the Computational Mechanics and Experimental Biomechanics Laboratory. He received his B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering in 1987 from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 1991 from Tel-Aviv University in Israel and his DSc in Mechanical Engineering in 1994 from Washington University in St. Louis, USA. Zohar spent a year as a visiting assistant professor at the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering at Washington Univ. during 1994-1995, and a year as a visiting associate professor at the Division of Applied Mathematics at Brown Univ., Providence, RI, USA during 2002-2003. During 2003-2007 he held a visiting associate professorship at Brown Univy. Since March 2006 he serves as a member of advisory board of the Bavarian graduate school of computational engineering. He spent 6 months at the Technical University of Munich and was awarded the title TUM-Ambassador. He also serves as President of the Israel Association for Computational Methods in Mechanics since July 2015.
